Will Pembroke
NOW I’M HERE
Now I’m Here captures the early days of Will’s life in Los Angeles. A companion piece to Before I Go, these songs were written around six months later, but from the other side of the Atlantic.
Left unrecorded as life in LA gathered pace and the world of Pill Wembroke took over, the songs remained a quiet, unfinished chapter. Returning to them ten years later became a way of preserving that earlier voice—a musical time capsule of a particular place, perspective and moment in life.

Now I’m Here / Lyrics
Daisy Chain
I made you a daisy chain
From the tangled strings of my heart
Gambling with my sanity
To get a better view
Holding instability
At arm's length for you to see
Hoping you to transport me
To another world
You gave it away
My daisy chain
Living in this fantasy
When red is run with iodine
The clouds know how to torture me
And knock me from my feet
You gave it away
My daisy chain
You gave it away
My daisy chain
Strawberry sunshine in my nose
As the sorbet skies overflow
Understands me more than anyone
I will ever hope to know
Why do I feel so lost inside?
Strawberry sunshine in my nose
As the sorbet skies overflow
Understands me more than anyone
I will ever hope to know
Why do I feel so lost inside?
Why do I feel so alone?
Why do I feel so lost inside?
I gave you a daisy chain
From the tangled strings
Society's Scientist
Just a boy living California
He lost his mind integrating all the formulas
Of what he thought
And how he saw the world
A disease lurking beneath the skin
No memory of the box which we've been living in
He's got a heart
But no one cares to know
Why? Why? Why?
Why you got to ask so much?
Don't quantify
Breathing numbers can be tough
You've crossed the line
Now you're gonna lose your human touch
Society's scientist, society's fool
These gilded norms, they can be hard to navigate
So just be strong, you do not need to take the blame
You should know
It's a symptom, not a curse
Create the gaps, then you have to live by them
Remember that the truth does not mean happiness
I hope you've learnt
There is no right or wrong
Why? Why? Why?
Why you got to ask so much?
Don't quantify
Breathing numbers can be tough
You've crossed the line
Now you're gonna lose your human touch
Society's scientist, society's fool
Society's scientist, society's fool
Bruise
I need an inspiration
I need another muse
These words that I've held inside
I wanna give them all to you
I'm feeling such emotion
I need an avenue
To say it all at once
I wanna give it all to you
All to you, yeah
Floating over oceans
In this hot air balloon
You're the fire I need inside
To keep me out of the blue
I need a little patience
Before my heart can bloom
Like the droplets in a rainbow
I'm dreaming all the colours of you
Oooh, again
Of you, again
You know, I don't care what the others say
Even if it's true
You know I'll love you all the same
Even if I bruise
I need to find my reason
I need to find it soon
Before I build my ship
To sail me to the moon
I'm searching for the answer
I'm hiding from the truth
I fear I lost myself
When I gave it all to you
Oooh, again
To you, oooh, again
You know, I don't care what the others say
Even if it's true
You know I'll love you all the same
Even if I bruise
Glitter
We used to smoke life down to the filter
As we'd watch the falling ash turn to glitter
We'd dance all night
With smiles in our eyes
Our minds were lost up with the constellations
As our thoughts looped on with our conversations
That night I woke
To the other side
Oh baby you made me so high
Maybe you'll save me tonight
The world is too big to be trapped in a cage
Now I've spread my wings and I've made my way
I always thought I could make it alone
Now life is good but it's not the same
When you're watching me from so far away
You should know you made it my home
Oh baby you made me so high
Maybe you'll save me tonight
Oh baby you made me so high
Maybe you'll save me tonight
When my journey comes to end
I wonder if we'll still be friends
Or will this all just be a memory
It's on my mind I can't pretend
Even though I've made my bed
You should know that I still believe
Oh baby you made me so high
Maybe you'll save me tonight
Grey
Light it for the world
Light it for yourself
Your moonlit dreams
Are fading with your health
You're hiding from the world
Hiding from yourself
Use your heart before
There's nothing left
So find another way
Don't you be so grey
Don't be grey
Light it for the world
Light it for yourself
I'd hate to hear
Your beauty's been suppressed
Don't listen to your boss
Don't listen to your friends
They don't know
The fight that never ends
So find another way
Don't you be so grey
Don't be grey, yeah
You're riding on this motorcycle
Hiding from the darkness of your mind
Numb to all the passing faces
Even those that felt like home
Memories are now forgotten
Even those you swore you'd hold
Heaven's In My Head
I never liked the rain till I met you
Now the tens in my pocket are soaked right through
But money don't mean that much to me
The lakes have dried, the rain has stopped
Don't know what I was thinking of
Before I realised
The rain will pull the colours through
Lovers and brothers gather round
Don't you know we run this town
Just cut those strings up off your back
I'm running red to indigo
These layered waves all in a row
You don't need the sun
For the rain to pull the colours through
The rain will pull the colours through
The rain will pull the colours
Oh Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my
Can you feel it? Can you feel it too?
What you see is what you get
So train your eyes to see the best
Of what the world has to offer you
Even in your darkest days
Feel the brightness in your brain
And you will start to see
That the rain will pull the colours through
The rain will pull the colours through
The rain will pull the colours
Oh Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my
Can you feel it? Can you feel it too?
The rain will pull the colours through
The rain will pull the colours through
The rain will pull the colours through
The rain will pull the colours through
Oh Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my
Can you feel it? Can you feel it too?
Oh Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my head
Ohh, heaven's in my
Can you feel it? Can you feel it too?
Home
Home, I'll find my way
Home, I'll make my way
Into the darkness
I walk alone
Leaving behind
All I've ever known
Without the lights
I am free
Escaping shadows
Which cling to me
It's the price I pay to live in a dream
Oh, I've cast my rocks far into the sea
These words I sing and the spaces between
You should know, I'm coming
Home, I'll find my way
Home, I'll make my way
Into the darkness
I hoped to grow
Building my sculptures
From marble and stone
But have I made
My effigy
Burning bright
For all to see
It's the price I pay to live in a dream
Oh, I've cast my rocks far into the sea
The words I say and the spaces between
You should know, I'm coming
Home, I'll find my way
Home, I'll make my way
Home
Home, I'll make my way
Out of the darkness and into your arms
Will you forgive me for taking so long?
My skin has wrinkled and my heart is worn
Will you remember? I'm coming
Home, I'll find my way
Let Me Go
You said that you loved me when you laid down on my bed
Words forever haunting as they linger in my head
I know you know
One day I'll go
To have you in my life now, it tastes so bitter sweet
For now I have realized you're everything I need
After you've gone now, who will bring the flowers home?
Who will light the candles and who will feel your bones?
I know you know
One day you'll go
I know you know
Hold me close
Don't you dare to let me go
Hold me close
Don't let me go
Now I'm left to dream again, for nights that might have been
Awaiting greedy fingers to rush across my skin
All I have are memories, which I'm afraid to lose
Fading into apathy, is it the same for you?
I know you know
One day they'll go
I know you know
Hold me close
Don't you dare to let me go
Hold me close
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Don't let me go
Promise me that you won't forget
So this moment will never end
Always here with you
Don't let me go
Hold me close
Don't you let me go
